Areia Branca Lodge is a very well established resort in Inhambane, Mozambique, it was founded by the Beans in 1996. On 01 December 2016, Dries and Herliaan Visser with their three sons Juan, Henning and Erik, bought “their piece of sunshine…” from the Beans, making Areia Branca their new permanent home in Inhambane, as a quality of life change for the whole family. Their hands-on management style, together with a terrific team of local assistants, ensures that you will have the very best service and an unforgettable stay at this stunning location. As well as being one of the most beautiful places on earth it also offers exceptional value for money. The location is such that at certain high tides, the resort is then on an island for a few hours which certainly adds a certain charm to the idea of an island holiday.

The resort offers self-catering accommodation in log cabins (chalets), finished the traditional Mozambique way and “palapa” camp-sites. All amenities are clean and very well-maintained.

December 2019, the Visser Family decided to rebrand Areia Branca to Barra Dica Resort.

Barra Dica – meaning “the TIP of Barra”, is located right on the tip of this “serene finger”. Barra Dica Resort offers the most glorious sunsets. Plenty of activities to do in and around the resort, to match the adventurous well as the more quiet spirits.

Leave your frowns, laptops and stress and bring your hat and camera, and come and enjoy the Mozambican sunshine – we are happy to share!
